First steps
Getting started
Pick a hero, understand the gear you carry and go into the field ready to adapt. The first descent teaches more than a perfect plan can.
- Choose a hero. Start with a fighting style you can read clearly. Browse the six class guides to find your approach. The Warrior uses a broad close-range sword attack and abilities that affect nearby foes.
- Look over your equipment. Check the worn slots and carried inventory. A weapon's base name alone does not tell the whole story of a rolled copy.
- Learn where your gear lives. Carried items travel with the hero. The shared stash is available through town storage, with separate actions to store and take equipment.
- Enter a stage. Stay alert for terrain cues, move when a room becomes crowded and use abilities to make space. The Crypt guide introduces one destination without revealing its layout.
- Review what you found. Back in town, compare new gear against worn pieces before moving it into the stash.
What comes back from a raid?
Successful extraction retains collected gold and XP, your final equipped loadout and your carried pack. Death or abandonment retains half the collected gold and XP, loses everything in the pack and restores the equipment you wore at departure. New finds are lost even if you equipped them during the raid. Items left in the shared town stash stay safe.
